Sleeping Giants

Ruth wasn't from the "right" people. She wasn't the strongest. But she had faith, and that was enough to change generations.

What do you do when your past feels louder than your future? What do you do when you are obscure, not leading anyone, trying to hide from your past? What about if you have disqualified yourself from a great future? Can God show up, even then?

Some fears hit deep. They convince us that we are not enough, but faith has the power to overcome fear. Faith is built in the presence of fear, not the absence of it.

It’s easy to worship God when things are going your way… but the story always goes on and we don't always remind ourselves that when we partner with a divine God, we can accomplish incredible things... even when our resources are minimal and when we feel afraid.

You have a job, a reputation, a label that defines how others perceive you. By choice or by force, you are seen a certain way. Is it possible to break free from the binds of those bonds and labels? We are all sleeping giants. We have untapped potential, even when we have a bad reputation. Others may only see the label, but God sees our potential!

Barnabas was so great at encouragement that the disciples nicknamed him “Son of Encouragement”. He saw the potential in others and gave them the platform to unlock their potential and live it out. God wants to do the same for you, and then wants you to do the same for others. Walk with someone. Be a Barnabas to someone. Champion them. Encourage them. God wants to use the potential in you to change the world and the world of those in your influence. God is asking, “Would you take them on and walk with them?”
